Americans For Prosperity Trying to Trick Democratic Voters Into Voting Late. Suprise? No.

From the party that screams about claiming to protect the rights of voters:

The state chapter of Americans for Prosperity, a conservative advocacy group financed by the billionaire Koch brothers, is mailing out absentee ballots to voters in two state Senate recall districts with instructions to return the material after the date of the election.

The fliers tell voters to return the absentee ballots to their city clerk before Aug. 11, even though the election date for the two districts receiving the mailers is Aug. 9.

Sources say the fliers were received by "card-carrying Democrats active in the recalls" of state Sens. Sheila Harsdorf (R-River Falls) and Rob Cowles (R-Allouez).

Two of the activists are expected to file complaints with the state Government Accountability Board later today. Copies of the complaints obtained by No Quarter

Matt Seaholm, state director of AFP, didn't return a call to his office today. The conservative organization, which backs GOP candidates and causes, was co-founded by billionaire activists David and Charles Koch.- jsonline.com

Obviously, an honest mistake that a GOP front organization is sending vote cancelling ballots to Democrats! But let's make sure as heck that poor people have to show an ID at the polls to stop this out of control voter fraud!

What I can’t understand is that you took me to task for saying that you are not objective. THEN you post this on the same day. C’mon nah.

You said this: Exactly, and why your “Dan doesn’t like Mr. Rice because he’s a conservative, therefore it’s bad.” is way off base.

    I’m way off base?
Let’s check the title of your very next post:
“Americans For Prosperity Trying to Trick Democratic Voters Into Voting Late. Suprise? No.”

The last line from your post (obviously with sarcasm intended):
“Obviously, an honest mistake that a GOP front organization is sending vote cancelling ballots to Democrats!”

Objective: not influenced by personal feelings, interpretations, or prejudice; based on facts; unbiased: an objective opinion. -dictionary.com

An objective person would withhold judgment about the absentee ballot applications until more facts are made clear. A subjective person would accuse them of being dishonest OR, from the other point of view, say it was an honest mistake.

And it’s really ok, Dan. You have every right to post your feelings about issues and topics, but do not try to kid people by saying you don’t have disdain for conservatives/Republicans. And don’t get mad at people for pointing it out. It’s all good.

Aside from the above … looking at the PDF it says to return the absentee ballot to the city clerk on the Thursday of the week before the general election (which would be August 4th)…(this is on page 4/7, step 4).

The Thursday prior to the election is August 4th, exactly one week before the 11th, which is the date they specified on page 5/7, step 4. Did they look at the calendar wrong? Seems weird they would contradict their own dates in the mailing. Sloppy at best. Misleading at worst.

From the PDF you’re talking about and conveniently ignoring:

    Objective! Subjective! …
