Clearly Blazing the Trail
More good news on the Open Source software front, this time in the area of accessibility for the blind:
“GNOME Accessibility Architecture” has been singled out in this year’s “Helen Keller Achievement Award in Technology”, one of the annual “Helen Keller Awards” presented by the American Foundation for the Blind. “
GNOME is a free, popular desktop manager for Unix operating systems like Linux by the way. It’s advancements like this that are making Linux a more viable solution on the desktop, which more and more people are starting to realize, if not see outright.. ;)
