Finally Bringing out the Big Guns?

Published by Daniel Cody at 11:58 am under Politics

CNN has this story about how the U.S. Military is going to start bringing out the really high-tech tools of the trade to catch Osama.

Yes folks, two and a half years after Sept. 11, we’re finally going to use all of our available resources to catch the world’s worst terrorist! I have to wonder what the thought process was behind not using the very best technology and tools possible right from the start to catch this guy?

This is pretty shocking because I think most American’s were under the impression we were using the very latest technology - “Doing everything we could” - already. And now that we find out we haven’t been hunting him down quite as hard as we could have, you have to wonder why?

It’s pretty clear now that a lot of the critics of the Iraq war who said we were taking focus off the ‘war on terrorism’ by going after Saddam with such abandon were right. The Iraq war obviously took away valuable resources from the job of catching Osama. Another point is the timing of this new urgency to catch the ultimate bad guy.

A lot of people have speculated that this is all coming back into focus now because Bush wants to go into the election with Saddam and Osama in custody. Personally, I think they’re going to have him pop out of a giant cake like some bachelor party stripper during the Republican National Convention this summer. Bush can then look smugly into the camera and announce, “Mission Accomplished… Again.”

    LOL!!

Fell out of my chair laughing.

Don’t forget that as he’s staring into the camera and delivering the line, he’s also giving the “thumbs up” sign.

I heard Nader in an interview on XM Radio how he thinks that Osama is magically going to appear right as the elections get close…

I can’t believe Joe Six-Pack is going to fall for such an *obvious* ploy for votes, but it will probably work.

Either that or they’re going to play the “Don’t change your horse in midstream” harp.
