In Economic Crisis, GOP Looks to Unlicensed Plumber For Advice

by Dan Cody Leave a reply »

You can’t make this stuff up.

Fresh off his stint as a war correspondent in Gaza, Joe the Plumber is now doing political strategy with Republicans.

When GOP congressional aides gather Tuesday morning for a meeting of the Conservative Working Group, Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher – more commonly known as Joe the Plumber — will be their featured guest. This group is an organization of conservative Capitol Hill staffers who meet regularly to chart GOP strategy for the week.

Wurzelbacher, who became a household name during the presidential election, will be focusing his talk on the proposed stimulus package. – Politico

I realize that the GOP has a natural tendency to hold those with actual academic or scientific credentials in low regard, but does that mean you have to go to the extreme opposite end of the spectrum to get your advice on something as sobering as the state of this economy?

Seriously. A guy with zero credentials or experience and was nothing more than a campaign prop is now advising the minority party on the greatest economic crisis in modern history. Think about it.

Not that I would have used him as an “advisor”, but he’s probably a helluva lot better than a Treasury Secretary that doesn’t pay his taxes (or say a Senator from S.D.?!?!?)

  2. Sean, he is not “a helluva lot better.” Really, he’s not.

“Cant make this stuff up”…….funny Dan, because you actually are making this stuff up. So a political celebrity is making an appearance at a luncheon and somehow you extrapolate this into he is “advising the minority party”. So every time your party courts the numerous high school dropout hollywood lefties that doesn’t count?

“I realize that the GOP has a tendancy to hold those with actual academic or scientific credentials in low regard”……boy you got us there, We should be paying more respect to the higly regarded environmental physisist Dr. Al Gore.

Ah yes, bonyT, the Keystone Cop of dancody.org strikes again! Classic.

bonyT – I thought I felt a stronger breeze than usual. Turns out, it was from your HUGE swing and miss.

What’s even more amusing is how you lambaste Dan for factual inaccuracy while spinning your own reality-fractured version of Weaselbacher’s activities. Turns out, my inept friend, that your buddy Weaselbacher is doing much more than “making a luncheon appearance”. According to the article, he is addressing GOP congressional staffers to help “chart GOP strategy for the week”.

Funny, it looks to me that Dan hit the nail on the head, while you shot wildly into the air in the desperate hope of hitting something.

    Looks like you lose. Again.

  5. BonyT says:

Well David V, you can believe that Joe th plumber is crafting Republican legislation if that makes you sleep better, but I guess it proves that it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to smell the giant pork crap stimulus sandwich that you lefties are trying to serve us.

  6. Sean says:

    Keith,

OK, maybe not a helluva lot better, but if people are going to comment on the “inept” economic advice of one Joe the Plumber and the subsequent advice he’s supposedly giving the GOP, please note that the current President has now selected two tax evaders for his cabinet (you know advisors) – ONE that overseas the TREASURY DEPT. It’s interesting that if you’re going to question the GOP on their selection of “advisors” that you wouldn’t do the same for the POTUS. Glass houses kids, glass houses.

  7. dmrsilva says:

And is Joe the Plumber any worse of an advisor than all the lefty Hollywood brain surgeon types that have been spokespeople for the Democrats?

  8. Smitty says:

A guy with zero credentials or experience

That’s a good description of the current President.
