Look, Dan. If you want your elected officials to be accountable to the electorate, go live in a representative democracy.

I don't know of any positive contexts for the president to come off as an overconfident, 'above the law', 'never wrong' person, but that's neither here nor there.

To answer you're question though, it was Bush's answer to a question about how he holds meetings.

I think it's also safe to say, based on his debate performances this year for example, this it's his attitude towards anyone who questions him, his administration, or it's policies.

When asked who he had in mind as a Supreme Court replacement should he be re-elected in another debate, "I'm not telling" was his response, and followed it up by refusing to admit a single mistake (though asked for three) in his entire term.

"I don't feel like I owe anyone an explanation" should sound like it came from the mouth of a rebellious fourth grader, not the most powerful man in the world. And one who should be answering to the people he represents at that.

You've got to explain this quote further Dan ... what was the context of the comment? Who was he referring to when he said "somebody"?

I certainly hope you know the answer to the questions above. If you know who he was referring to and the situation he was talking about it doesn't sound as bad as you have posted.

I hate this about politics ... people take others out of context too much. You can take any soundbyte and make somebody look how you want them to look.
