Ron Johnson Laughs It Up When President Called “liar, cheat, criminal out to destroy nation”

Seriously, who are these people?

Audience Member: Today I am very, very worried about this country, where it is going. As I study history and look at the historical thing I see right now a liar, a cheat, a criminal, a dishonest person who lied his way into the White House; and we are sitting with a Marxist anti-American, American-hater sitting in the White House, who seems bound and determined to destroy this nation.

Different Audience Member: Rich is that your question?

Audience Member: Yes. Do you agree? Let me finish. My point, I guess what I’m saying it is so important for people like Mr. Johnson who understands this [inaudible] to be elected. It’s important for the people who are out there who don’t understand what this whole thing was about, that they begin to understand so that a Reagocrat[?] like Feingold, ah…Dumocrats like Kagen and others out there are removed from office so that this country gets back on a…gets back on its path. Do you kind of agree with that? (Laughter)

Ron Johnson:: I’m not…I’m not going to argue with…arm wrestle you about it.

And laughs all around! This kind of ridiculous rhetoric may play well with the anti-everything-since-january-2009 tea party crowd, but Ron Johnson is running to be a SENATOR of Wisconsin for crying out loud and all he can do to someone who calling the President a “criminal determined to destroy this nation” is laugh and shrug it off? Seriously, read it again:

“a liar, a cheat, a criminal, a dishonest person who lied his way into the White House; and we are sitting with a Marxist anti-American, American-hater sitting in the White House, who seems bound and determined to destroy this nation.”

Not to go into Obama vs. Bush mode again here, but I’m so old I remember when talk like that about the President had conservative’s calling it treason. Now it’s just accepted. It’s one thing for some fringe extremist to believe this kind of crap, but it’s quite another for a candidate for the United States Senate to go along with it.

“Not to go into Obama vs. Bush mode again here, but I’m so old I remember when talk like that about the President had conservative’s calling it treason.” AND THE LEFT CALLING IT FREE SPEECH……

Again, showing disgust and commenting on rhetoric like this now, and not when it was going on from 2000-2008 (and beyond) sounds like sour grapes and somewhat hypocritical.

Here’s another thing; to believe that just because you’re running for, or are a United States Senator, doesn’t mean you’re a leader. I would argue that most emulate the cliche stereotype of the typical politician. It’s why I don’t trust them, don’t admire them, and hold them in the same regard as an ambulance chasing lawyer.

My point with that Sean isn’t about the people saying the things (clarification in hindsight) but about a candidate going along with it. There are equal elements of crazy on both sides, but to imagine that this kind of thing would have been tolerated in the 2002 elections from a candidate is ridiculous. Something like this from a “mainstream” candidate from one of the major parties just 8 or 6 years ago would have been enough to sink their campaign.

I call shenanigans, Dan. Steve Kagen was (and still is) a name caller and Bush basher.

I don’t think you actually pay attention to your side when they say hurtful things. Come to a Kagen rally once. It’s ridiculous. And you act like “your” side is innocent. Puh-lease.

There’s a difference between a “Bush basher” – or “Obama basher” for that matter – and saying the President is an America hater out to destroy America. Marxist liar also.

Either you can’t see the difference or are unwilling to acknowledge it.

Bush needs to be indicted for his program of locking non-citizens (and Americans?) up without a trial. Obama needs to be indicted for his program of murdering Americans without a trial.

Bush was called Hitler and the Republicans were disgusted, I tell you! Obama was called Hitler, and the Democrats were disgusted, I tell you!

    One big nap.

And we can leave actual governance to…?

Get outta town. Ron Johnson didn’t even laugh about it. pffft. Nice stretch. He actually looked a little uncomfortable when making his arm wrestling response. You tried too hard on this one.

Besides Dan, you have no credibility on this topic. “Your” side was and is so disrespectful to former President Bush it was appalling … and you said nothing. Nothing.

I like how you rip on tea party members for their “new found” outrage, when in fact you have a “new found” outrage when it comes to disrespecting the president. When a Republican gets into office and the name calling starts up from your side, it will be interesting to see you demand it stop.
