So while Sen. Feingold may be out for Democrats, there doesn’t appear to be any shortage of Republican candidates hoping to be our next President. The latest is Rudy Giuliani, who announced he’s forming the obligatory “exploratory committee ” today, the first step in a full blown run for President.
While Rudy Giuliani is best known for his role as New York mayor in the days following the 9/11 attacks, he’s been making the rounds the past few years trying to improve his GOP credentials. If he has any hopes at all of getting the Republican nomination in 2007, he’s going to need a lot more work on those credentials.
For example, did you know that Rudy Giuliani supports gun control, same-sex civil unions, embryonic stem-cell research and abortion rights?
Hardly sounds like the kind of guy who will fire up the right wing base, eh?
