Wait.. So are Democrats to blame or the CIA? Or both? Or some other non-Bush administration entity?

This is why I'm happy the Democratic Senators finally forced their GOP counterparts to stop stalling on the pre-war intelligence investigation last week.

Don't you ever think that the Administration believed the intelligence they were getting from the intelligence agencies (domestic and foreign) was factual, and therefore really did believe the pre-war intelligence warnings regarding WMD?

Wingers must be getting desperate when they're hauling out old Clinton quotes to defend their position... This one is classic:

<em>"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line."
- President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998</em>

Key phrase there: 'deny Iraq the capacity to develop'.

As for all the quotes from Senators in 2002/2003 - duh? From what I heard on the Sunday talk shows, this was the GOP talking point - "HEY! Even Democrats said there were WMDs in Iraq!!!"

The question of whether Bush lied about Iraqs WMD capabilites doesn't just apply to the general public, there's serious concern that the administration lied to congress as well about pre-war intelligence.

Don't you ever think that the Senators quoted there believed the intelligence they were getting from the adminstration was factual, and therefore really did believe the pre-war intelligence warnings regarding WMD?
