Video From Milwaukee Tea Party Protest, Crowd Size Again Over Stated

September 20th, 2009

Some signs from the anti-Obama/Government/Health Care tea party protest in Milwaukee yesterday… The crowd didn’t disappoint, and sure enough the Obama = Hilter comparison was there.

Aside from the signs, it was a decent sized crowd. The vast vast majority of the people in attendance were over 50 and white. At the height of the event, I’d say there were several thousand people in attendance.

Some people saying there were 15,000 people there are way way overestimating it. Sheriff Clarke’s office might have had a bit more credibility with giving an estimate of the crowd size if the Sheriff hadn’t been participating in it.

I mean usually the Republicans are for tax cuts for big corporations yet they are promoting these “tea parties” on Fox. I don’t get it. Also why are they calling it “teabagging”? Are they promoting that sort of thing? I could see the Log Cabin Republicans being for it but not the whole party.

Anna, ask yourself this. Who provides jobs in this country? Where does wealth come from? How do you go about bettering the lives of you and your family. See where I’m going with this?
And not all tax/policy are Republicans.

That may be the case John, but I didn’t see a whole lot of “Down with Boener!” or “Stop the pork Mitch McConnell!” signs on Saturday.

Anna, it’s the liberal press that refer to it as teabagging; specifically to get the reaction you had. We call it a tea party. This is in reference to the Boston tea party when a bunch of people decided they’d had enough of an unresponsive and unaccountable government raising taxes right and left with no concern as to what the will of the people was — sound familiar to anyone?

Dan, I’ve been following this pretty closely too, but the highest attendance estimate or claim I’ve seen is 10K. Can you provide some links to the 15K claims?

That comment right there proves you are clueless and have no clue as to what you are talking about

why are you so obsessive over the number of protesters. Most of these “teabaggers” are people who have never attended protests and rallies. This is what is scaring the likes of you so much. Ya, you can feel the tide turning, cant you.

The altercation is clearly misrepresented. Dare I say LIE Here’s what really happened, see for yourself-

Yes there may have been a few over the top signs but the VAST majority voiced concerns over policies.
