Daniel Cody - “Left on the Lake”

So this week we finally finished up our ‘Save theDATE’ cards, these pre-invitation postcards that are an informal announcement to let people know which day we’re getting married so they can mark it on their calendar months in advance, and got them in the mail. We printed them ourselves to save money, but Jenny ended up having to hand write the back side of the postcard because OS X Office just wouldn’t print a 3×5 sized card. Thats a whole other story though.

Some readers may have noticed the lack of posting about our wedding here, on my space that’s supposed to be about that sort of stuff. The truth is, we’ve been keeping most of that on a seperate wedding specific website!

Jen and Dan’s wedding site has been available for a few months now, and we’re keeping a ‘journal’ (aka weblog) about many of the situations we’ve encountered during our wedding planning in addition to directions to the wedding, event’s listing, registry information, and all sorts of fun stuff. It’s not the prettiest thing in the world, but content is king after all!

I’m sure the weblog part will go over the heads of most of our families, but it’s more for us, because when so many things are happening so fast, you tend to forget the fun things that happened along the way. Keeping a journal of events can help you remember those sorts of fun but small details.

We’ll be out of town over the weekend on our annual Memorial Day ‘Biking and Camping Expedition’ in middle Wisconsin, so we’ll see ya Tuesday. Have a great holiday weekend to those in the states!
