What I Learned from Right Wing Talk Radio Today About Presidential Staffing Decisions

Today I learned from right-wing talk radio in Milwaukee that because Pres. Elect Obama has picked a number of non-conservative advisors, his promise to govern from the center is already a broken one.

He should be filling key spots in his administration with conservative ideologues to make the thousands of listeners of morning AM radio a little less pessimistic about the complete failure that his administration has already become in their opinions.

If they discussed RFK jr, then I think they would be correct, but for different reasons. The description of “anti-vaccination” crank comes to mind. I would not want to see Robert Kennedy in the Obama white house.

For conservatives to care, or even comment on who Obama is selecting for his cabinet is stupid. He is a liberal Democrat that has aligned himself with like minded people (for the most part) and will select people for his cabinet that he trusts and will follow him. It’s what Presidents have done and should continue to do….it’s called being a leader. I probably won’t like, or agree with the ideology of his selections, but the “buck stops at the desk of the President” and he doesn’t need strikingly opposing views constantly being thrown at him.

His decisions as to how to run this country are inevitably his, and no advisor (Democrat or Republican) will alter those decisions “THAT” much. BTW: News flash to the Republican Party members out there, don’t worry about who Obama’s picking for his cabinet, worry about renovating your house first before you start pontificating about someone else’s.

    Dan,

Obama’s going to select his cabinet and his advisors as he sees fit. I suspect the squawks of “right wing talk radio” will have no effect on his decisions. Currently, the only influence talk radio has appears to be on your equanimity.

It’s not just “right wing talk radio” that’s perturbed by Obama’s staffing decisions. The “left wing blogosphere” is also up in arms.
